| Silk Hope, North Carolina Silk Hope isn't actually an incorporated town. Rather, it’s a beautiful rural community located northwest of Pittsboro, NC in Chatham County. The landscape consists of rolling meadows stretching lazily between large stands of both evergreen and hardwood trees. This makes for lovely and pleasurable backroads driving. Community is the operative word when you talk about Silk Hope. The Silk Hope Ruritan Club organizes activities for the residents of Silk Hope as well as the many visitors who make their way to this beautiful area. Among the events they sponsor is the annual Old Fashioned Farmer's Day which is held at the G.T. Petty Memorial grounds located across from the Silk Hope Community Grounds. This event brings together a large collection of working antique farm machinery together from all around North Carolina and beyond. In addition, there are Civil War reenactments, arts and crafts, flea markets, southern BBQ and homemade ice cream. The Volunteer Fire Department and the Silk Hope elementary school also offer events that bring the community together. Though it is a small community, Silk Hope is large on activities such as soccer. There are several Silk Hope teams of different age groups that play soccer in the Chatham County Soccer League.
