Siler City, NC is a quaint community of 8,564 residents which was originally settled in the 1750s.  It is located at what is now the junction of US 64 and US 421 in Central North Carolina, and covers just over six square miles.  It is close to the “Research Triangle Park” consisting of the cities of Cary, Raleigh-Durham, Chapel Hill, North Carolina which offer urban amenities.

The historic downtown is getting a facelift through the revitalization efforts of the North Carolina Arts Incubator, Inc. in partnership with many downtown businesses.  Its beginnings as a railroad/farming community lends to its character as a friendly town of prosperous businesses and easy living.  The "Southern" charm of this town with its excellent schools and many recreational opportunities make it a perfect place to put down roots and raise a family.   

The climate in Siler City is moderate with the lows in the coldest months averaging 29 Degrees Fahrenheit and the highs in the warmest months averaging 89 degrees Fahrenheit. The rainfall amount is pretty consistent throughout the year. 

If golf is your game, you'll want to explore the Siler City Country Club.  This course offers 18 holes of regulation-length golf, with 3 sets of tee boxes for fun, but challenging golf.  Shopping is close by to Siler residents.  Shabajale is a favorite shopping destination, and you'll also find specialty shops as well as nationally-known chain stores, like Belks.

The great outdoors is another amenity that draws people to Siler City.  State Natural Areas are easily accessible to enjoy hiking, canoeing and other outdoor activities.

Chatham County Schools provide education to Siler City students within the incorporated area at Chatham Charter (K-8), Silk Hope Elementary (PK-8), Virginia Cross Elementary (K-5), Siler City Elementary (K-5), Chatham Middle (5-8) Sage Academy (7-12), and Jordan Matthews High (9-12).  The mission of the Chatham County Schools is to provide an atmosphere of partnership between the community and the schools, and believe that parent and community involvement can make a difference in students’ lives.
